For the past two hundred years, our families' roots have existed in two Italian communities. The Fanellis and Scatenas are from the rolling hills of Pieve di Compito, Lucca and the DiGianfilippos come from the agricultural plains of Luco dei Marsi, L'Aquila. The trips to Italia, the land of our ancestors, have created a love for its charming people, unique products and unsurpassed landscapes and architecture. After spending years searching for the best products of each region, we have selected only those artisans who meet our highest standards. With each return visit, we are always astonished by the experience.

After our latest visit to Italy in 2002 with our wives, Janice and Sue, we decided to embark on this family owned business together. Fankory Import Company was formed by us, Joseph Fanelli and Bernard Korzyniewski, with its headquarters in the Chicago area, and a branch in the province of Lucca, Italy. We have known each other since entering St. Rita High School, Chicago, IL in 1956. Our long friendship and shared passion for all things Italian drove us to create Fankory Import Company, Inc.

As a family owned and operated company, Fankory takes pleasure in offering a wide variety of products discovered on our travels to Italy. The distinctive products we offer are the type of quality items that take much time and energy to find while in Italy.
