The most typical Mediterranean tree, the olive tree, gives us its delicious olives, precious olive oil and its fine wood. For many years, the olive tree cultivation in the Lucca area has been the main source of income for most families.

Stefano Gemignani carefully selects the olive wood from the surrounding hills. OLIV ART has been creating unique handcrafted gifts since 1980 in their workshop located at Monsagrati Alto, near Lucca in the midst of a beautiful landscape of rolling hills.

Every product made by OLIV ART goes through a very accurate process, such as:

• The best raw materials are chosen to avoid the raw imperfections in the wood.
• After the finest pieces of wood are selected, they are seasoned for several years.
• OLIV ART uses the vein, to produce objects that are rare and treasured for their beauty.
• Professional artisans work with the manual lathe, as in the old days, so each piece is handmade.
